Apprenticeship in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

            At the beginning, Harry Potter sends his Patronus against Death Eaters to protect Dudley, his cousin. He is excluded from Hogwarts because he is not allowed to use magic when he is not at school. But Dumbledore helps him out.

            Dolores Umbridge, the new teacher against the Dark Arts, refuses to teach defensive spells! In her lessons, there is just theory. But she is a friend of Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic.

            Hermione Granger disagrees with Umbridge and she reacts against her power. She creates Dumbledore’s Army with the help of a teacher, Harry! Harry’s students – around 30 – want to learn with him. To do so, they go to the room of requirements and they practice a lot of spells there. For example, they learn the disarming charm “Expelliarmus!”, a stunning spell like “Stupefy!”, and Harry also tells them to create their Patronus.

            At the same time, Professor Severus Snape is teaching Occlumency to Harry to close his mind to Voldemort’s attacks. Voldemort could not enter it then! Yet, Harry manages to read in Severus’s mind, so the lessons stop!

            So, when Harry sees Sirius Black is in danger, Harry and his best students are going to help him. This is the first time for Neville, Luna, and Ginny to help Harry in his adventure. Indeed, Hermione and Ron are always present for him.

            In the end, Dumbledore’s Army wins over the dark forces with the help of the Order of the Phoenix because they have learnt new spells only adults could use.
